Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls is one of the unique preschools in Roodepoort which offers a holistic approach to learning.
Centered on a Future focused, traditional, and a family-oriented curriculum.
Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls joined the Trinityhouse family in January 2012. The school is a Christian school and we value the unique richness of every individual child. The Christian ethos we have at our school is not a religion but rather a lifestyle. The Fruit of the Spirit is integrated throughout our daily programme.
We help young children to become happy, confident and competent. We do believe that good self-esteem leads to spontaneous and experimental learning. The children are taught to love each other and to respect each other’s differences. They are taught to be kind and considerate. Each child is encouraged to grow and to develop good life skills. The stimulating environment develops inquiring minds and the love for school and learning.
The school is committed to fostering strong communication and close co-operation with the parents. We host annual events such as Information evenings, a sunset picnic, Mother’s day, Father’s day, Grandparent’s day, our annual concert, charity drives, a graduation ceremony for our Grade R’s, etc. We invite guests to entertain and inform the children such as puppet shows, Fire Brigade, Mobile Zoo, Fish friends, etc.
It is a huge responsibility to work with little children and each and every one of us will be held accountable to God for the manner in which we treat all children. God states in Matthew 18: 1: “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven? And He called a little child to Himself ….”
Assessments
Children are continuously assessed through play-based methods, with teachers maintaining observation and portfolio files aligned with the National Curriculum.
Grade R reports ensure school readiness, and parents receive regular updates through informal interviews and term-end written reports, followed by additional interviews if necessary.
Extramural Activities
Trinityhouse Pre-Primary offers optional extra mural activities during school hours, including Rugga, Netgirlies, Playball, and Buzz for sports and cultural enrichment.
Parents communicate directly with the activity providers, and children can choose which activity to join.
Uniforms
Trinityhouse Pre-Primary Little Falls has a child-friendly, informal school uniform that prioritizes comfort.
Students can wear easy-to-manage clothing and are not discouraged from getting dirty and in summer are allowed to come barefoot. The compulsory uniform includes T-shirts and hats with the Pre-Primary logo, along with denim pants or shorts.
Discipline
At Trinityhouse Pre-Primary School, we follow a disciplined lifestyle rooted in our Christian ethos.
Respect for authority and love for one another are paramount. We promote a positive environment where all individuals are treated with respect. Misdemeanors are viewed as learning opportunities, fostering a fair and equitable approach.
Playgrounds are more than just a lot of fun, they play such a huge role in developing important core skills. We have 3 separate playgrounds to cater to different age groups. These playgrounds also include race tracks, sandpits and mini soccer play areas.
Our amphi-theatre hosts our assemblies, Outreach OPD (“Other People’s Day), shows and extra mural presentations. It is a place where we gather as a school to praise, worship, give and have lots of fun!
The only Trinityhouse Pre-Primary to have a heated swimming pool, our Grade 00 and Grade R children take part in our Waterwise Swim Programme in the first and fourth terms. This programme is included in our school fees.
Reading is so important from our Grade 0000 all the way until Grade R. Every week our little ones go to the library and get to choose their own books and have a special storytime. This is also home to our language centre where our little ones learn beginner Zulu and Afrikaans.
We love to explore our senses and development our senses in the sensory garden.
We love to dance, sing, have puppet shows and do special core-building activities in our music and movement centre.
Colour, Fun, Play and most importantly learning! Our beautiful classrooms are a safe-haven for learning and fun. We do art, baking, science experiments and learn different “Inquiry” themes every week as per our Global Competencies programme.
Our aftercare centre is so much fun! We have dress-up days, parties, arts and crafts, plant gardens and so much more!
